“They’re still throwing serious money at me to do [action movies]. I’m like: ‘Guy’s I’m sixty-f******-five.’ Audiences are eventually going to go: ‘Come on,’ ” Liam Neeson recently said about his late-career resurgence as a man with a very special set of skills. Whether or not that means he’s going to punch his ticket on action flicks remains to be seen, he’s got at least one more coming with “The Commuter.”
Co-starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, and directed by Neeson’s go-to action dude Jaume Collet-Serra (“Unknown,” “Non-Stop,” “Run All Night“), this actually plays like “Non-Stop” but on a train, with the story centering around a mild-mannered dude who gets caught up in a criminal’s complex plans. I’d assume he eventually has to throat punch some people. Here’s the official synopsis:

In this action-packed thriller, Liam Neeson plays an insurance salesman, Michael, on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger (Vera Farmiga), Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on his train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding and is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy. One that carries life and death stakes, for himself and his fellow passengers.
